It's an exciting time of year! Winter is over, and spring is here. The fruit trees are showing promise. The pear tree is full of little pears. Last year this tree only had a handful of pears. Can you see the pear babies? Self-Preservation Air, water, food, light, proper temperature, exercise, rest, sleep, freedom from poisons and violence are things we require to maintain life. Although these things are necessary, none of them will produce life. The life force within all living things is always trying to preserve us. We call this self-preservation. This instinct is present in even the smallest microscopic communities of cells. All living things have an instinct for self-preservation.
