Self Preservation and Dr. John Fielder's Upcoming Visit to Hot Springs

It's an exciting time of year!  Winter is over, and spring is here.  The fruit trees are showing promise.  The pear tree is full of little pears.  Last year this tree only had a handful of pears.
Can you see the pear babies?

Self-Preservation
Air, water, food, light, proper temperature, exercise, rest, sleep, freedom from poisons and violence are things we require to maintain life.  Although these things are necessary, none of them will produce life.  The life force within all living things is always trying to preserve us.  We call this self-preservation.  This instinct is present in even the smallest microscopic communities of cells.  All living things have an instinct for self-preservation.  The exception is when an individual will sacrifice himself to protect the young or to preserve the race. The individual will sometimes die trying to defend itself, the young, or the group.

All forces, including the life force, work according to law.  This should be encouraging news to those of us working on restoring our health.  We can trust that the law of self-preservation is working in our favor as we seek to eliminate everything in opposition to life and incorporate all the requirements for life.

Dr. Fielder's Upcoming Visit
Dr. John Fielder from the Clohesy River Health Farm near Cairns, Australia will be visiting in our area in one month.  Dr. Fielder is my mentor and my friend, so it is with joy that we look forward to hosting him.

We have two events planned for him to meet our community.  There will be a raw food potluck at my house on Monday, May 18, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to bring a raw food dish to share.  After we eat, we will let the doctor have center stage and accept questions from the other guests.  It will be a wonderful time to access the wisdom of this natural living expert.

On Tuesday, May 19, 2015, Dr. Fielder will be lecturing on the principles of natural living at the Creative Life Church in Hot Springs.

If you are interested in these events, message me for more information.

An Alternative to Medicine - Not Alternative Medicine

Since earliest times there have been two schools of thought regarding health and healing and the nature of disease.  One believes that disease is caused by something external which can only be exorcised by using magic, poison, or an incantation.

The other believes that the disease is an effect caused by breaking the laws of Nature, and that healing automatically occurs when we stop breaking these laws.  This is called vis medicatrix naturae - the healing power of Nature.

Our modern medical system is based upon the first belief system.  Instead of the external factor being thought of as devils and demons, today it is described as bacteria and viruses.

Nature Cure, Natural Hygiene, and Biogenic Living are based on the second belief system.

This is an alternative to medicine.  It is not alternative medicine.  We believe alternative medicine is still the practice of medicine, although it uses different forms of medicine such as homeopathic remedies, herbs, vitamins, minerals, and food supplements.  These medicines are used to treat symptoms, which are effects, without addressing causes.  They claim to be “natural” and to assist the body to heal in a natural way yet they still work the same as the poisons used in the medical profession, although perhaps not as harsh.

Our methods at Simple Raw and Natural are drawn from three overlapping disciplines...Nature Cure, Natural Hygiene, and Biogenic Living.  The basic teaching of each of these disciplines emphasizes  the knowledge of natural living.  Our practice is one of natural healing, a natural science of Life….an alternative to medicine.

To health and happiness....
